Without an account

You can use the app without ever signing in. In that mode, everything you do here — requests you write, prayers you record, your name, your city — stays in your own browser on your own device, in localStorage. Nothing you type is sent over the network. Clear your browser storage and it is gone.

With an account

Signing in is how your requests reach other people and how strangers' requests reach you. When you sign in, the following is stored on our backend (Supabase, hosted in the United States):

• Your email address, used only to send magic-link sign-in emails. We do not email you for anything else.
• Prayer requests you post, so other signed-in users can open them, pray, and tap Amen.
• Prayer events— the timestamp of each prayer someone offers for your request, or that you offer for someone else's.
• Your profile — an optional first name, an optional city, a streak count, a prayed-for-others count.
• A push-subscription token, if you turn on notifications — used to tell your browser “someone just prayed for your request.” That is opt-in; nothing is sent otherwise.

Requests sent to the world pool show only the optional first name and city you chose to attach. They are never paired with your email or any identifier a stranger could use to contact you off-app.

Moderation

Requests posted to the world pool run through an automated moderation check before strangers see them. The text of your request is sent to OpenAI via our Supabase Edge Function, solely to block spam, doxxing, and content that should not be in front of another person unfiltered. The text is not used to train any model. Requests are otherwise never sent to OpenAI or any third party.

What the app does not do

• No analytics. No Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, no Segment, no pixels.
• No advertising networks. No cookies from third parties.
• No tracking scripts. No fingerprinting.
• No selling of data, ever, under any circumstance.
• No AI-written prayers. The app will never compose or intercede on your behalf.

Crisis content

If something you write suggests self-harm or suicidal thought, the app will surface crisis resources (988, Samaritans, Find a Helpline) right then and there. That detection runs both in your browser and server-side. There is not yet a pastoral-on-call channel; when we add one, it will be opt-in and clearly labeled, and we will never surface your real identity without your consent.

Children

This app is not directed to children under 13. An age gate will be added before any broader promotion of the app.

Deleting your data

Without an account: open Settings → Reset this device to wipe your browser's copy instantly.

With an account: email privacy@helpmetopray.org and we will delete your account and associated records within seven days.
